How much does misted unit replacement with laminated glass cost in Buckinghamshire?
Our guide range for misted unit replacement with laminated glass in Buckinghamshire is £150 to £474 including VAT (£125 to £395 plus VAT) per unit, including fitting. The survey is free for new installations and your fixed price follows in writing.
Misted unit replacement means swapping a double-glazed unit whose seal has failed, so moisture has got between the panes, for a new sealed unit. Doing it with a laminated pane turns a routine repair into a security upgrade for little extra cost.

- Old units removed and disposed of
- New sealed units made to measure

Things to decide before you order
Laminated or standard
A laminated inner pane adds security for a small extra cost while the unit is being made.
Unit thickness
We match the overall thickness to your frame so the beads fit properly.
Rules that apply in England
Replacing glass in an existing frame
Replacing only the glass or sealed unit in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair in England rather than notifiable building work. Replacing a whole window or door is notifiable and is normally certified through a competent person scheme or approved by building control. Either way, new glass in a critical location should still be safety glass.
Safety glass in critical locations
In England, section 5 of Approved Document K treats glazing in doors and in side panels within 300 mm of a door edge, from floor level up to 1,500 mm, and any other glazing below 800 mm, as a critical location. Glass there should break safely, be robust, or be guarded. Laminated or toughened glass meeting BS EN 12600 class 3 is the usual answer, rising to class 2 for door and side-panel panes wider than 900 mm.

Misted unit replacement with laminated glass in Buckinghamshire: questions
Which towns in Buckinghamshire do you cover?
We can arrange work anywhere in Buckinghamshire, including Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Bletchley and Amersham, and in other towns across the area.
Why is there condensation between my window panes?
The seal around the unit has failed, letting damp air into the gap. The only lasting fix is a new unit.
Can misted glass be repaired instead of replaced?
Some services drill and dry units, but the seal stays broken and insulation is not restored. A new unit is the reliable fix.
Will the new unit match the others?
We match the size, spacer colour and glass as closely as we can, including common obscure patterns.
