Terms and conditions

How quotes, orders and fitting work.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who you contract with

Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, trading as Security Glazing UK, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG. Work is carried out by glaziers working under our contract with you; we remain responsible for it.

2. Guide prices and quotes

Prices on this website and from the guide price tool are guides only. After a survey we give you a written quote naming the glass makeup for each pane, the price, payment terms and lead time. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated. Prices shown with VAT are calculated at 20%.

3. Ratings and test evidence

Where your quote names a rating such as BS EN 356 P6B or BS EN 1063 BR4, the rating is the glass manufacturer's, based on their tested product, and we supply their test evidence with the quote. A rating applies to the glass; how well a window, door or screen resists attack also depends on its frame and fixings, which we describe in the quote.

4. Changes and site conditions

If the survey could not reveal something that affects the work, such as a frame that cannot take the weight of the new glass, we will explain the options and agree any change in price in writing before continuing.

5. Your right to cancel

If you are a consumer and the contract is made away from our premises (for example at your home after a survey) or at a distance (by phone, email or online), you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days, starting the day after the contract is made. To cancel, tell us by any clear statement, such as an email to info@securityglazing.uk, or use the model cancellation form we send with your quote. We refund what you have paid within 14 days of being told.

Glass made to your measurements and specification is not covered by the right to cancel, under regulation 28(1)(b) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For that reason we do not order made-to-measure glass during the 14 days unless you ask us to, on paper or by email. If you do, and then cancel, you can still cancel the rest of the contract, but you will have to pay for the made-to-measure glass already ordered.

Services such as fitting, film application and visits are covered by the right to cancel. We will only start them within the 14 days if you ask us to on paper or by email. If you then cancel, you pay a proportionate amount for the work done up to the point you told us, and nothing if the work had not started.

Outside these situations, if you change your mind before we place an order for your glass, we will refund anything you have paid.

6. Your responsibilities

Please give safe access, clear the area around the glass, and obtain any landlord, freeholder, planning or listed building consent that applies. We will tell you if we think consent may be needed. Security glass is not fire-rated glass: glass in fire doors and fire screens must be replaced with fire-rated glass tested for that system.

7. Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit, are set out in your written quote.

8. Warranties and your rights

Any manufacturer's warranty on the glass or sealed units is passed to you and set out in your quote. If something is not right with the glass or the fitting, tell us promptly and we will put it right as required by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

9. Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Security glass makes entry slower and harder but cannot ensure that a building will not be broken into.

10. Website content and images

Information on this website is general and may change. Images are computer-generated pictures of product types and are not photographs of our completed jobs.

11. Complaints and law

Contact us at info@securityglazing.uk with any complaint and we will respond promptly. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
