What is the price of anti-ram-raid glazing in Annan?
As a guide, allow £1,495 to £6,995 plus VAT (£1,794 to £8,394 inc VAT) per shopfront for anti-ram-raid glazing in Annan, supplied and fitted. Size, glass makeup, access and frame condition move the price, which is confirmed in writing after the free survey.
Anti-ram-raid glazing is heavy laminated or anti-bandit glass fitted in strengthened, deeply rebated frames so that, if a vehicle or heavy tool hits the shopfront, the opening is not simply cleared. Glass and frames delay entry; stopping the vehicle itself needs bollards, posts or barriers in front of the shop.

Questions we will ask at the survey
Insurer requirements
Insurers often set conditions after a raid. Get their wording before ordering so the scheme meets it.
Consent for bollards
Bollards on the public highway need the highway authority's agreement, and forecourt barriers may need planning permission.
Building regulations and safety in Scotland
Glazing in workplaces
Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 applies in Scotland. Windows and transparent surfaces in walls, partitions, doors and gates must be of safety material or protected against breakage where health or safety requires it, and marked so people see them. The duty holder's risk assessment decides where.
Planning permission
Under the Scottish planning system the council decides whether a new or altered shopfront needs planning permission; changing the glass in an existing frame usually does not. Bollards or barriers in a road or footway need consent from the roads authority, which is normally the council.

Anti-ram-raid glazing in Annan: questions
Do you cover Lockerbie as well as Annan?
Yes. As well as Annan, we can arrange work in nearby Lockerbie. Dates depend on installer availability.
Should I move stock away from the window?
Yes. Keeping high-value stock away from the glass at night reduces the reward and complements the physical measures.
Can you strengthen my existing shopfront?
Sometimes, with reinforced mullions and better glass retention, but many frontages need new framing to make the glass upgrade worthwhile.
What glass is used against ram raids?
Usually anti-bandit laminated glass in the P6B to P8B classes, held in deep-rebate, reinforced framing so the pane does not fall out when the frame is struck.
