How much does kiosk and booth security glazing cost in Torquay?

Kiosk and booth security glazing is the glass, frame and transaction system for small staffed buildings and serving windows, such as petrol station night-pay windows, ticket booths and gatehouses. It lets staff serve and see out while protected by laminated, anti-bandit or bullet-resistant glass chosen to the site's risk.
What you can specify
- Wide fixed panes for clear sightlines
- Heavy-duty framing fixed to the structure
- Speech panels and intercom provision
- Transaction drawers, trays and tilting hatches
- Built to the level set by your risk assessment
- Heated or demisting options for cold sites
Fitting in Torquay and nearby
We arrange surveys and fitting in Torquay and across the TQ1 postcode district, as well as in nearby Paignton (3 miles) and Newton Abbot (6 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.
Devon spans Exeter's Georgian and post-war centre, Plymouth's rebuilt 1950s shopping streets and waterfront offices, and seaside towns where sea air is hard on window frames and seals.
Typical places for kiosk and booth security glazing:
- Petrol station night-pay windows
- Takeaway and late-night serving windows
- Security gatehouses and barrier kiosks
- Ticket offices and box offices
Things to decide before you order
Drawer or hatch
Drawers suit cash and cards; larger tilting hatches suit goods. Both should have no straight path through.
Weather and condensation
External kiosk glass needs sealed units or heating to stay clear in winter.
Rules that apply in England
Glazing in workplaces
Regulation 14 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 requires windows and transparent surfaces in walls, partitions, doors and gates to be of safety material or protected against breakage where health or safety makes that necessary, and to be marked so people notice them. The employer or the person in control of the premises decides what is needed through their risk assessment.
Planning permission
Changing the glass in an existing window or shopfront does not usually need planning permission, because the building looks much the same afterwards. A new or altered shopfront, or security features added to the outside of a building, may need planning permission from the council. Bollards or barriers on the pavement need the highway authority's consent, which is normally the council.

Kiosk and booth security glazing in Torquay: questions
Do you cover Paignton as well as Torquay?
Yes. As well as Torquay, we can arrange surveys in nearby Paignton, Newton Abbot and Exmouth. Dates depend on installer availability.
Can staff talk to customers through the glass?
Yes, through a speech panel or an intercom, so the window stays closed.
Can you replace just the transaction drawer?
Yes, where the window glass is sound. We check that the new drawer matches the protection level of the glass.
Will the glass mist up?
Sealed units and good ventilation reduce misting. Heated glass is available for very exposed booths.
