Security glass for home windows in Gorseinon

How much does security glass for home windows cost in Gorseinon?

Budget £162 to £474 including VAT (£135 to £395 plus VAT) per window for security glass for home windows in Gorseinon, supplied and fitted. Larger panes, thicker makeups and difficult access cost more; the price is fixed in writing after the survey.

Security glass for home windows means replacing the glass in your existing frames with laminated glass or sealed units that have a laminated pane. The windows look and open exactly as before, but breaking the glass becomes a slow, noisy job rather than a quick way into the house.

Choices you can make

Same overall thickness as your current units where possible
Laminated inner pane in new sealed units
Obscure glass for bathrooms and landings
Works with uPVC, aluminium and timber frames
Toughened outer pane where safety glass is required
Security tape or clips on externally beaded windows

Things to decide before you order

Keep or replace frames

Rules that apply in Wales

Wales

Security rules for new homes

Wales introduced its own Approved Document Q for new homes, in force from 1 November 2018, and it applies to newly erected dwellings only. It follows a similar approach to England's, with PAS 24 referenced for easily accessible doors and windows and laminated glass to BS EN 356 P1A in doors and nearby windows. It does not apply to changing the glass in an existing home.

Windows needed for escape

Approved Document B for Wales sets out escape window provisions for homes broadly in line with England's, including minimum clear opening sizes and a maximum sill height. New glass does not change those, but locks, secondary glazing and film must leave an escape window able to open. Laminated glass is not designed to be broken out.

Security glass for home windows in Gorseinon: questions

Which areas near Gorseinon do you cover?

We can arrange work in Gorseinon and in nearby Llanelli (5 miles), Swansea (5 miles) and Ammanford (9 miles). Dates depend on installer availability.

Do I need new windows to get security glass?

No. If your frames are in good condition, we replace just the glass with laminated units made to fit them.

Which windows do burglars target?

Mostly ground-floor windows at the back and side, and windows that can be reached from flat roofs or walls. Those are the ones we suggest upgrading first.

Can you match my obscure bathroom glass?

We can usually match common obscure patterns, or fit a laminated obscure glass with a similar look.
