What is the price of broken glass replacement in Beckenham?
Replacing a broken pane in Beckenham usually costs £174 to £714 including VAT (£145 to £595 plus VAT), depending on size and glass type. The visit charge, from £174 including VAT (£145 plus VAT), is deducted from that price if the work goes ahead.

Insurance
Check your policy before ordering. Many insurers will pay for like for like; an upgrade may be at your own cost.
Like for like or upgrade
Replacing broken toughened glass with laminated glass costs a little more and makes the same weakness much harder to exploit next time.
Building regulations and safety in England
Replacing glass in an existing frame
Replacing only the glass or sealed unit in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair in England rather than notifiable building work. Replacing a whole window or door is notifiable and is normally certified through a competent person scheme or approved by building control. Either way, new glass in a critical location should still be safety glass.
Fire-rated glass is different
Glass in fire doors, fire screens and protected escape routes has to be fire-rated glass tested as part of that door or screen system, under Approved Document B and the fire safety duties of the building's responsible person. Laminated and security glass are not fire-rated unless the product says so. Where a pane needs both fire and security performance, it must be a product tested for both.
How it works
- Describe the damage and send a photo
- Visit price confirmed
- Measure and make safe if needed
- Glass agreed, ordered and fitted
Broken glass replacement in Beckenham: questions
Which areas near Beckenham do you cover?
Yes. As well as Beckenham, we can arrange visits in nearby Catford, Croydon and Blackheath. Dates depend on installer availability.
Should I replace broken glass with laminated glass?
If the pane was broken in a break-in, yes, usually. Laminated glass holds together when struck, so the same route is much harder to use again.
Can you give me paperwork for my insurer?
Yes. We provide a written description of the damage, the work and the glass fitted, which you can send with your claim.
Do you board up broken windows?
Where the opening cannot be left and an installer is available, we can arrange temporary boarding until the new glass is fitted.
