How much should I budget for broken glass replacement in Enniskillen?
Replacing a broken pane in Enniskillen usually costs £174 to £714 including VAT (£145 to £595 plus VAT), depending on size and glass type. The visit charge, from £174 including VAT (£145 plus VAT), is deducted from that price if the work goes ahead.
Broken glass replacement means clearing a cracked or smashed pane, measuring the opening and fitting new glass, which is often the right moment to upgrade to laminated security glass. It covers windows, doors, shopfronts and screens in homes and businesses.

Things to think about
Like for like or upgrade
Replacing broken toughened glass with laminated glass costs a little more and makes the same weakness much harder to exploit next time.
Making safe first
If the opening cannot be left, temporary boarding protects the building while the new glass is made.
Consents and safety: Northern Ireland
Fire-rated glass is different
Glass in fire doors and fire screens must be fire-rated glass tested within that system, under Technical Booklet E and, for non-domestic premises, the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010. Security and laminated glass are not fire-rated unless the product is tested for it.
Replacing glass in an existing frame
Building regulations in Northern Ireland are administered by the eleven councils' building control services. Replacing only the glass in an existing frame is generally treated as a repair, while replacing whole windows or doors can be controlled work, so check with building control first. New glass in a critical location should be safety glass under Part V.
